How to compare flight quotes before booking

The cheapest-looking flight quote is not always the best final deal. Before booking, compare the total payable amount, baggage allowance, flight timings, cancellation rules, and payment charges.

1. Compare the final payable price

Do not compare only the base fare. Check taxes, convenience fees, payment gateway charges, seat charges, meal charges, and any extra cost added at checkout.

2. Check baggage allowance

Two quotes can look similar but have different baggage rules. For international flights, baggage differences can make a cheap quote expensive later.

3. Read cancellation and date-change rules

A lower fare may have strict penalties. If travel dates can change, a slightly higher flexible fare may be better value.

4. Look at route and timing

Compare layover duration, airport changes, red-eye timings, and total journey time. The best flight quote should balance price with comfort and reliability.
