What to check before booking a holiday package

Holiday package quotes can vary widely because inclusions are different. Before comparing prices, make sure the itinerary, hotel quality, transfers, meals, and cancellation rules are truly comparable.

1. Hotel name and room category

Do not compare only star rating. Check the exact hotel, room type, location, breakfast inclusion, and whether taxes are included.

2. Transfers and sightseeing

Private transfers, shared transfers, entry tickets, guide charges, and vehicle type can change the real package value.

3. Meals and exclusions

Check whether meals are room only, breakfast, half board, or full board. Also check exclusions like resort fees, tourism tax, tips, or visa charges.

4. Flight and luggage details

If flights are included, check airline, timing, baggage, stops, cancellation rules, and whether the fare is live or blocked.

5. Cancellation and payment schedule

Packages often include multiple suppliers. Ask for cancellation terms, payment deadlines, and refund timelines in writing.
